Archaeologists and archaeologists from Sindh's department of archeology have unearthed up to 15 storms and found them all - ivory, coins, iron, glass and pottery pieces, terracotta, animal bones, Thousands of Antiquities have been found, including wood and dogs.  Today, the National Museum's Shamsher al-Haidri Auditorium held a technical session on a whirlwind exploration by the Department of Culture, Tourism, Antiquities & Archives, Government of Sindh, in which Minister for Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Syed Sardar Ali Shah, Consul General of Italy Anna Rufino, Secretary Culture Mr.  Ghulam Akbar Laghari , DG Antiquities & Archaeology Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Kanasro and other relevant officers and a large number of educational institutions attended by students and students of  SZABIST, Dow University Karachi, Sindh University, Jamshoro and Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur.

In his presentation on the occasion, Italian archaeologist Dr. Simon Mantellini said that from the site of Banbhore, Italian archaeologists, along with the Sindh Department of Antiquities team, have discovered the world's largest ivory factory.

He said that the Italian mission along with the technical officers of the Department of Antiquities Sindh, and students of various universities, started digging from the north of the cyclone excavation site from January 29. During which we found thousands of different types of antiques.

He added that the antiques found include beads, copper and bronze pieces, coins, various types of figurines, terracotta, and animal bones, while the maximum was 6,675 ivory, which were discovered in different forms. Are, which proves that there was an ivory factory in Banbhore where various items, including jewelry, were made. According to him, such a large number of ivories were not found from any other site in the world, and before that, ivory was found in Iraq from a very small number. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Syed Sardar Ali Shah congratulated Italy and the Department of Antiquities & Archaeology team and the students who participated in the excavation for obtaining such a large number of antiquities and said that the department has made such efforts will continue.

He called on the Italy Mission to cooperate with the Department on all possible cooperation and further sites. He expressed his happiness over the participation of a large number of students in the Shamsher-ul-Haidri Auditorium and announced that more posts of curators and conservators would be placed in the department for archival students.

He said that as long as the archipelago was with the federal government, only Rs 1 Million was kept for all archeological sites in both Sindh and Baluchistan provinces.

Unless we have kept archaeological subjects in schools, how can the child know that our archeology is significant in our history and civilization? After the 18th Amendment the archaeological sites moved, so we started to save archeological sites.

Further he said that the team is currently working on the second archeology team in Tehran, which is in collaboration with the Antiquities Department, while the French archeology team at Mohenjo Daro and Italy are working on the cyclone.

He announced that soon Jhukar Jo Daro, near the city of Larkana, would start the excavation at the site of Nahuto near Umar kot. Addressing the seminar, Italian Consul General Anna Rufino said on the occasion.

Italy and the Department of Antiquities are working together and will continue to do so in the future.

He said that the Italians based in Karachi also visited Banbhore with the support of the department, and in addition to the charms that went to Mohenjo Daro.

He said that people of Sindh are very hospitable and generous with heart and respect for their hospitality.

The seminar was also addressed by DG Antiquities Manzoor Ahmed Kanasro and others. At the end of the seminar, certificates and shields were given to students participating in the Whirlpool excavation.
